|

I just emerged k3b 0.11.2 and some of the icons were missing (such as from the help menu and also when burning the icon in the tray showed the 'imagine not found' default pic).
Seeing if this was a problem with k3b, I unmerged k3b, downloaded the tar, and compiled it by hand (./configure, make, make install) and all the icons work flawlessly.
Kmplayer also has this same problem.
What could be causing this? |

Hmm, it appears to happen with all kde apps that aren't in the kde packages.
Oddly enough compiling by hand fixes all of these issues.
Also, these apps that have problems do not get installed into the kde app menu.
I'm surprised that no one else seems to have this problem since I have it on both my gentoo systems. |

It looks fine here, icons everywhere, menu item added with newest version. What icon set are you using? I was using the crystalSVG set that's not part of KDE and was having some problems with KDE claiming the icons were not there even though they were. I'm using the Crystal SVG beta1 that is the default for KDE 3.2. |

This appears to be a portage problem since it only happens when I use portage to install something and not compile by hand.
It seems that portage installs these things in the wrong place (/usr/bin instead of /usr/kde/3.2/bin) and thus kde not being able to find the app and icons. |
