for some reason my users cannot use a terminal within X11. Telnet works perfectly, but if a user opens a terminal within gnome or kde the terminal outputs nothing, takes no inputs, and just blinks with a cursor. This does NOT happen to root. This is stopping users from accessing their desktop from vnc as well, if that provides any clues.
any ideas ?
Thanks in advance |

I had /dev/pts support but i guess 2.6.1 needed /dev/pts extended attributes. |
