Is there a way to monitor the number of, and the progress of, file transfers?

TIA,

I guess I could've been more clear... I am looking for a realtime (or near realtime) that will show me how many files are being downloaded and they completion progress.

The reason why I want this is so I know when I can safely restart apache without disconnecting someone, mid-transfer.

Don't know about the completion status, but you may see how many clients are connected if you enable ExtendedStatus in Apache's configuration and then surf to http://your.domain.com/server-status. It is probably a good idea to restrict that directory to be accessible from your selected locations only. There's a pretty good example of that in Apache's configuration file already, I think.

I'm currently using wmnetload to see if there are any transfers going (it shows your network usage). I dunno if this is something you're looking for though.

*EDIT* or was it wmnetmon? I can't remember, and I'm at work...

Janne, thanks, that seems to be a little more what I am looking for, but I'll have to check it out more, as I didn't really have time to screw with it yesterday.

Phant0m51, thanks for the suggestion as well, I'll have to look into that, however, unless I can have it monitor only a specific port(s) (in this case 80/443) then it won't really fit my needs.

But thanks for everyone's help!
