I'm in the process of installing the gaming-sources kernel onto my computer (using the 2 CDs, stage 3 and the installation guide posted in gentoo.org).
My question:
How do I know which gaming-sources I have to install the kernel? (i.e., I see that there are three versions posted on the web:
gaming-sources-2.4.20-r5.ebuild
gaming-sources-2.4.20-r6.ebuild
gaming-sources-2.4.20-r7.ebuild
(sorry for such noob questions)
Edit -- OOPS! I just realized that the computer just told me. Never mind! _________________ Clue-less |

In general, you don't need to be concerned with versioning. Portage does the work for you. _________________ Behold, The power of SEARCH! |

New problem -- during the gaming-source kernel install, the following errors occured:
sched.c:1454: 'set_cpus_allowed' previously defined here
make[2]: *** [sched.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/linux-2.4.20-gaming-r7/kernel'
make[1]: [first rule] Error 2
make[1]: leaving directory '/usr/src/linux-2.4.20-gaming-r7/kernel'
make: *** [_dir_kernel] Error 2
What now? _________________ Clue-less |
