Has anyone ever used this brand of router? I purchased one yesterday and can only keep an internet connection for a few minutes at best. Even after turning off all the security settings, I was still only able to keep a connection long enough to download 700KB of an 11MB file before losing connection. Of course I can always restart my NIC but that seems rather pointless to have to do that every few minutes. |

I've heard of people having problems with this router. I have one, and do not have problems with it, but my neighbor does also, and has the same problem as you.
One suggestion: have you flashed the latest bios? This may fix your problems.
If you bought from a retailer, you may want to exchange for a router of a different manufacturer. _________________ Open-mindedness is painful... |

I as well had this problem about 1.5-2 years ago. I updated the firmware. Havn't had a problem since, and as they say about Linksys's firmware "if it aint broke, don't fix it". Once you find a firmware that works for you leave it untill you have a good reason to update. |

Upgraded to 1.04.17 (latest firmware) but I still lose a connection as soon as I try to download any file larger than a few KB in size. |
