When I shut my computer down, gdm causes an error. Also, when I use modules-update, I get a warning error that says "unable to generate modprobe.conf". Anybody else ever have this issue?

shutdown I get an error too. That's because GDM has already shutdown at that stage. However I don't know anything about the "unable to generate modprobe.conf".
