Root block device unspecified

Ok, I wokred with installing gentoo all last week, and seemed to have gotten it. Now, I am loading gentoo, and when it gets to "Step Four", it says "Root Block Device unspecified or not detected. Please specify a device to boot"

One thing to note, is that I DID NOT go through gentoo's bootloader steps and such. This is because I already have a built in lilo on MDK 9.2 I have the file edited, and it is supposed to load root as /dev/hda8, but I does not load. My filesystem is ReiserFS, but I turned "Enable ReiserFS Support" in my genkernal.

ANy Ideas what the problem could be?
