Hello!
I need to get my Realtek RTL8029 up and running. I'm using the kernel 2.4.21. I tried searchin for some documents but did'nt find anything much useful. I'm a complete n00b with Gentoo, so I would request you to include some details on how to get it running. Decieded to move on from RedHat, so here I am. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance |

Hello
Well this is what I did, I'm on a dhcp network through which I access the net. While compiling the vanilla-sources kernel, I have enabled the kernel to install the modules for RealTek. As I understand this model of ethernet card uses ne2k-pci module and other RealTek uses 8390, I've enabled both and have add the same to /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4 file. I have even enabled hotplug but still no avail. I have edited /etc/conf.d/net and set iface_eth0 to dhcp. Added net.eth0 initscript to the default runlevel. What am I doing wrong here? I'm stumped
Any help with be greatly appreciated
