GnuCash install problems

Hi

i have serched this board and other places to find the answer to that dreaded error. yep the "error writing data" on install. i read the bug report and other post but to me it seems no one has got this to install as of yet or atcherly posted a way they got it to work right.

emerge gnucash has install alot of other packages and is trying to install V 1.8.8 i am running KDE 3.1 on kernel 2.6

any help would be grate

There's already a thread about it where a workaround is explained, just kill the updatedb process when it gives an error, this way the installation will just continue.
