Hi,

At the moment everytime I mount a Windows share all files are given the execute file permission. Can I change this default behaviour so everytime I mount a smbfs share it is given a read/write permission only?

I have tried mount -t smbfs -o umask=644 but the file permissions are unchanged.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

I think that it should be fmask instead of umask when using smbfs. You may also need to use dmask which is like fmask but changes directory permissions.

Excellent! fmask=644 worked a treat!

Many thanks!
