Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my question. So if I'm wrong please excuse me and point where to go. Thanx

My problem: I'm trying to install ezpublish 3.3-3 only my freshly installed gentoo box. I'm using apache 2.0.48.

During the ezpublish installation it tells me to put 'AcceptpathInfo On' in my httpd.conf or in my .htaccess.

So I tried to put the directive into /etc/apache2/conf/apache2.conf, into /etc/apache2/conf/commonapache2.conf (which should be the same in my opinion?) and into a .htaccess but it didn't work out.
The ezpublish installer keep complaining.

Could anyone please help me solving this? :?:

Thanx in advance, greetz
Max (a desperate gentoo user)

the .htaccess procedure should do by itself
what you have to make sure is that the .htaccess file is in the exact directory where you install ezpublish and that the recommended syntax is exact.
check your logs to see what is wrond.
if you point me to the exact package of ezpublish you are trying to use i might try to check it and see how to solve it.
let me know here

Hi,

Thanx for your reply, really nice.

My .htaccess is quite simple: it just contains 'AcceptpathInfo On'. I checked the syntax twice so I assume that won't be the problem.
Further the .htaccess is located in my /var/www/htdocs/localhost/ezpublish/ directory. That is the place I installed ezpublish.
As said I'm using ezpublish version 3.3-3. I got it from http://www.ez.no.
I checked my apache logs, they show no problems.

If you would like to get access to my webserver, just let me know, I will configure the portdirection of my router/firewall then.

Thanx again, greetz

i will try to do it on my server first to see if i encounter the same problems as you did. if i do, i can search to fix it on my instalation.
i don't like getting acces probably because i also don't like giving acces :)

unfortunately i will only be able to do that in about 16-18 hours, as now i have to get some sleep for a job interview tommorow, followed by several other meetings.

if anyone has a clue on this please post your ideeas, otherwise i will give a try and come back with more (if there is more) ;)

Thank you, that would be great! And please just don't hurry.. I'm just playing around with ezpubish to learn something new. As I'm new to webdevelopment in general and especially to ezpublish (thnk god I'm not new to linux too :) ) I'm so glad I have found someone who would like to help me...

Further I don't like giving access too, but if it is the ony option and it will be temporary I think I can live with that :)

thanx anyway,
Max
