Grub loads step 1 and 2 fine but then I see no grub! just a black screen with a - in the top left corner blinking for about 15 seconds which is my default wait time I set and then the kernel begins to load but with lines all over and it's fuzzy so I can't read it. Then at somepoint during the kernel boot it goes to normal then the login screen pops up.. How can I fix this?
EDIT:
Code: | default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title=Gentoo Linux
root (hd0,1)
kernel (hd0,1)/boot/kernel-2.6.1 root=/dev/hda6
title=Windows XP
root (hd0,0)
chainloader (hd0,0)+1

Would be a good idea if you could post your grub.conf file here |

Ya, you need to change the splash image location. If you look at your grub.conf you'll notice that you have windows on hd0,0... Windows doesn't have your splash image, and if it did, it would try to eat it. |
