SMP Framebuffer Support

Anyone know if the framebuffer can be used with an smp enabled kernel? I have a dual AMD MP system, but framebuffer does not work on it with an smp enabled kernel. Framebuffer support works fine when using a non-smp kernel. I have only tried 2.4.x kernels so far, but I will be trying a 2.6 kernel soon. My video card is a Geforce 4 4400.

fb worked fine in a smp kernel with with 2.4 + 2.6 kernel

Mine doesn't. Well at least not with the LiveCD. I get a blank screen. I haven't tried fb in a kernel I compiled in a while.

A7M266-D with a pair of MP1800's, framebuffer and/or bootsplash is no problem.

Does anything different from a non-smp kernel need to be compiled into the kernel to get fb to work with an smp kernel?

i dont realy use fb but the logo and stuff apear on my screen before it boots X so i guess smp & framebuffer is fine for me to.

fb would not work for me from a LiveCD. However, I installed the 2.6.3 kernel today and fb seems to work fine with that. Thanks.
