same here :-(
I had that emu10k1 issue when I attempted one of the 2.6.2 kernels, so I reverted to 2.6.1-r1 and never went beyond that until the 2.6.3 kernel, so now I am back to 2.6.1-r1 :-(

Oh my emu10k1 issues in 2.6.2 were far more than just cracks and pops... it spiked the CPU and caused arts to crash with a CPU overload every 10 or 15 seconds... |

Well, my problems with gentoo-dev-sources weren't fixed in 2.6.3-r1. I have a UDF-fs unable to mount root fs error that i've seen more than one person post on these forums about. I did in the kernel and hardware section but nobody answered it, so I gave up on it. I use mm-sources 2.6.3 because the same setup in the config works great on that one. I am no newbie or intermediate linux user, so I don't really need help troubleshooting it...just was curious if anyone solved it. I've already done what i've seen people suggest here, and none of it works.
So, I am planning on setting aside a few hours tonight to concentrate on it and see if I can't fix my problem. I have a family member that works regularly with linux, developing drivers (among other things) specific to their client (US Navy) and they are very good at it. Since they know the inner workings better than most people i've talked to, I am hoping to see if he can figure it out with me . If anyone has that same error as me and the latest release didn't help...I will let you know if I get somewhere . |

Here it is: the 2.6.3-gentoo-r1 works alright here!
I can even 'emerge nvidia-kernel'.
I don't know what was wrong with that, but let's forget about 2.6.3-gentoo, alright?
Thanks to all the people that worked on this! |
