netscape mail/w32->thunderbird/gentoo.wine/vmware/convert

ok, so was running around fat32 drives under gentoo via ssh, and, erm, wanted to delete some $NTupdate-blahblah files, and ended up decimating the whole of windows. yay, i hear you say. agreed! nice. but.. found out that there are tons of old mails still under netscape mail, which i now cannot access without installing windows (no way anymore.)

so, what should i do. do you guys think thunderbird would somehow be able to read it (netscape mail folders/content) directly, should i try to learn to install vmware or wine ( i just hear about these things, never used them ) to run the netscapemail executable directly.. or just rm -rf * ..?

Have you tried using the "tools/import..." function in thunderbird to start with ? seems it can import communicator mail, not sure this is what you want though, but you ought to give it a try
