Im not sure if this has been answered but I've the forums about sonypi and sonypid. I followed the directions that supposedly got this working and my fn key still doesnt. I installed everything according to here http://spop.free.fr/sonypi/ . It is installed as a module. Here is what I am getting at boot time:
