Hi,
I am trying to get gentoo installed, but during the reboot it freezes...
It says, "Transition to ACPI sucessfull" and then stops after the following statement
Executing all Device _STA and _INI methods:....
I have a HP ze4400 laptop. Using grub as my boot loader.
How do I disable ACPI?
Thanks in advance.

You can pass acpi=off to your kernel via grub.conf. |

I have a ze4400, just finished struggling through what you're going through to install Gentoo.
You probably want acpi for all the power management stuff. It's the APIC that seems to be the problem. Put nolapic on your commandline and it should boot with ACPI on. |
