|
|
So I got two DVD's for my birthday (and I don't have a standalone DVD Player). Yeah, I know, my bro's ain't the smartest....
I figured that I would install Xine and xine-dvdnav. When I emerge xine-dvdnav, it fails to emerge xine-lib with the following error..
Code: |
* Patching ${S}/ltmain.sh...
* Could not apply portage.patch!
* Please verify that it is not needed.
* Cannot apply any patch, running libtoolize...
You should update your `aclocal.m4' by running aclocal.
cd . && aclocal
cd . && automake --gnu --include-deps Makefile
cd . && autoconf
configure:22673: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_ASFLAGS
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
See the Autoconf documentation.
make: *** [configure] Error 1
!!! ERROR: media-libs/xine-lib-0.9.13-r3 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 103, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)
|
I can follow directions as well as most other guys, so I do the following...
Code: |
h2so4 root # cd . && aclocal
aclocal-1.8: `configure.ac' or `configure.in' is required
h2so4 root #
|
hmm, that doesn't look good. But says that it's an autoconf error, some forum entry site says that I need 2.50 or higher of autoconf... So I see what version I have.
Code: |
* sys-devel/autoconf
Latest version available: 2.59-r3
Latest version installed: 2.59-r3
Size of downloaded files: 1,336 kB
Homepage: http://www.gnu.org/software/autoconf/autoconf.html
Description: Used to create autoconfiguration files
License: GPL-2
|
So then I took a deeper look on the forums here, and found a bunch of people with compilation errors, who fixed their problem with -nosse and disabling other CFLAGS. Unfortunately, this gave me no love.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. A beer and stale piece of B-day cake goes out to you if it resolves my problem.
Thank you for your time,
Frank Russo

Why do you need xine-dvdnav. It depends on an old version of xine and adds a feature, the newer versions of xine already have |

Hey... You're right. Xine Plays DVD's now on it's own! (the last version that I had used was 0.9.something).
What will they think of next?
Thanx Muchly,
