Every time I try to install Totem (0.99.8 version... latest ~arch, the other two won't even COMPILE), it dies on:
Code:
mkdir /var/tmp/portage/totem-0.99.9/image/usr/share/omf
mkdir /var/tmp/portage/totem-0.99.9/image/usr/share/omf/totem
for file in totem-C.omf; do \
        /bin/install -c -m 644 $file.out /var/tmp/portage/totem-0.99.9/image//usr/share/omf/totem/$file; \
done
/bin/install: cannot stat `totem-C.omf.out': No such file or directory
make[4]: *** [install-data-hook-omf] Error 1

Well, I've tried disabling the OMF patch, disabling sandbox, everything. The file simply isn't there. It annoys me that I can't get even the stable version to compile.

There's a pretty good clue in your post. You say that you are installing 0.99.8, but the output is pointing to 0.99.9 in your tmp directory. Have you tried to tweak the ebuild? 0.99.9 has been released, but there is no ebuild for it yet.

Hi,

Yeah, I did try to tweak the ebuild, but that's because it wouldn't install in the first place. I thought I had copied it over to its own ebuild file though... And that gave the same result.

Last night, I did a big emerge update (I remerged libxml, libxslt, and emerged beep-media-player, and mozilla-thunderbird), and now it emerges fine. I'm not sure why, but there's a little tip to anyone out there with this problem.
