Hello all members of the Gentoo forums

I've just set up my new pc based on x86_64 hardware, and have got Gentoo up and running (worked flawless with a stage1 install btw). I now have a problem emerging 32-bit packages.

Following the 'amd64-tech-notes' I have been trying to figure out how to 'edit the KEYWORDS= within the ebuilds.' I am new to Linux and Gentoo, so I'm not really sure how this is done.

emul libs, base and x, then you add multilib to your USE flag in /etc/make.conf
as muthax pointed out in another post.

For instance, my window-manager of choice is Openbox. Viewing the file '../x11-wm/openbox/openbox-3.1.ebuild' shows the 'KEYWORDS="~x86 ~ppc ~sparc" what keyword is required to install this package? Others seem to have emerged openbox, though i cant figure it out.

This has nothing to do with emerging a 32bit package or not it sounds.
just add 'amd64' to the KEYWORDS of the ebuild and you should be fine.
You'll also need to do this to any deps. Then if it works, scan bugs.gentoo.org,
and if someone else hasn't already reported it as working, report it,
so a dev can commit it to cvs.
