When mozilla 1.6 or 1.7 is finishing a download of some pages like macromedia.com (maybe with some kind of plugins on page or something) all opened instances of mozilla crashes:
mozilla wrote: |
No running windows found
The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
(Details: serial 71 error_code 10 request_code 147 minor_code 1)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Also prelink is broken:

Hm... I just noticed that mozilla and mplayer troubles are connected with xorg. After restarting xorg and performing # opengl-update nvidia all becomes ok but not for a long time and after few minutes all errors appears again . I'm remerging xorg now but not sure that it will help. |

Same problem here. Would be nice if anyone could help, this is _really_ annoying.
/edit: hermes, are you using mm-sources, too?
/edit2: It's those damn 2.6.7-mm2.... With 2.6.7-gentoo-r5, everything works fine. And I was just beginning to like Andrew Morton . |

Excellent! I killed nvidia, xorg, unprelinked all and what a silly boy am I? I'm an idiot! Why havent I loaded an old kernel first? Hrrrr... Damn, I'm angry!
For a St. Connectius sake I've got lynx installed on my system and can read forums .
Yep man, It seems like mm-sources-2.6.7 release bug (of course if you've got corrupted /dev/hands).
Grrrr... .
Thank you, dfy, for a hint.
[edit]: with linux-2.6.7-rc3-mm2 all works fine. |

2.6.7-mm2 messes up everything (for example, the problems mentioned, also, emerge gettext etc.) . Very disappointing kernel. |
