here is what I am getting when I try to emerge kde or gnome
I have checked all my flags and CHOST files in rc.conf and make.conf
also edited out the /etc/fstab cdrom as well
Code: |
!!ERROR: sys-apps/eject-2.0.12-r1 failed.
!!Function src_compile, Line 418, Exitcode 2
!!! emake failed
|
Seems like it is coming from either cdrom.h, swab.h, eject.c from Linux 2.6.3
Any Ideas?
Any help or suggestions would be apreciated
thanks in advance _________________ Yeah... I got nothin for this field! |

Well I will try. I had the exact same problem and to get around it I had to edit my make.conf file and remove the cdr varaible in USE=. I save the file updated my env and than did an emerge gome again. It appeared that it picked up where it left off during the emerge process where it failed. It no longer tried to emerge that file. I aslo had it fail when emerging app-cdr/cdrtools-2.01_alpha25.
I am a total noob at linux and gentoo so I hope this helps you complete your emerge of gome or kde.
I am not sure how to handle these files as they may be needed if you have a cdwriter as i do, but gnome is up for now and I will sort out my CD-RW later, hopefully |

You can find my duplicate here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=139234
There's a link to a thread you might also want to read there. But basically you need to emerge a suitable kernel source, point your /usr/src/linux there, emrge eject and point it to your real kernel source again. |
