After setting up lilo as the bootloader and running the /sbin/lilo command I got this problem.
Warning '/proc/partitions' does not match '/dev' directory structure. Name change: '.dev/ide/host0/target0/lun0/disc' -> '.dev/hda'
The kernel was compiled with DEVSF_FS but 'devfs=mount' was omitted as a kernel command-line boot parameter; hence, the '/dev' directory structure does not reflect DEVFS_FS device names.
I installed using the dl'd stage3 tarball (cuz the the one on my live cd was corrupted and would'nt work) Configured the kernel manually, (this is were I think I did sumpin wrong.)
Set up the file systems on the harddrive /dev/hda1 ext2, /dev/hda2 swap, /dev/hda3 reiserfs.
Would it too difficult to go back and fix my kernel or just dump everything and start over and look in menuconfig a little more carefully? _________________ Attempt number four and counting! |

No that shouldn't be very hard. Are you still in the installation phase? If so you can just go to /usr/src/linux and make menuconfig again, and copy the new kernel to your /boot. |
