|

hey, ive been trying to install ut2003 for a couple of months now, but it always seems to hang up on me. when i type "emerge ut2003" i get:
Code: |
* Copying files from Disk 3...
>>> Unpacking linux_installer.sh to /var/tmp/portage/ut2003-2225/work
* I'm sorry, but I was unable to support the Makeself file.
* The version I detected was ''.
* Please file a bug about the file linux_installer.sh at
* http://bugs.gentoo.org/ so that support can be added.
!!! ERROR: games-fps/ut2003-2225 failed.
!!! Function unpack_makeself, Line 917, Exitcode 0
!!! makeself version '' not supported
|
and when i try to use the installer provided on the third disc i keep getting
something that means "linux_installer.sh; not a real binary file; aborting"
ive hunted all over the forums and bugzilla to no avail, im just wondering if there are any fixes for it that people know of? Thank You in advance,
Shiven |

Don't emerge it, just copy the installer from the 3rd CD to your harddisk and then run it yourself. Follow the instructions just like you would to install any game under Windows and you're all set. |

Try running a
Code: | chmod a+x linux_installer.sh |
on the file before running it. And when you run it, use the command
Code: | sh ./linux_installer.sh |
