|
|
I have successfully installed Gento to my machine. I fear I did not compile the kernel with ppp support for my dial up external modem. I tried changing makeconfig and then recompiling.
1. Hw could I easily determine if my dial up support is in the kernel?
2. If it isn't, how does one add to the kernel after an initial compiling?
Thanks all!

If you didn't use genkernel you can just go to /usr/src/linux and "make menuconfig". Then go to where the option is and see if it is on. If it is not put it on and save your config. Then compile the kernel again and move it to your /boot. |

drwhom,
Use make menuconfig or make xconfig to tweak your configuration, then, provided you have modules enabled,
make modules and make modules_install will add your new module(s).
If modules are not enabled, its compile from scratch. _________________ Regards,
