Dell C610 Notebook Sound

Anyone get the sound card to work under the 2.6 kernel?

Works great under 2.4.24

I tried to compile myself and when I do I don't get the ethernet interface or sound working.

Tried genkernel and ethernet configures but sound don't.

Any suggestions?

On mine, I enabled ALSA and i8x0 audio and that was it.
You also have to turn up the volume in the mixer and use one of sound daemons to restore your sound settings at boot. I forgot what, though I'm at work and can't look.
