I'm a little confused by the mm-sources kernel revisions.
I'm currnently running 2.6.3-rc3-mm1. I see that portage has now 2.6.3-mm3.
I'm not familiar with the incrementation of the AM kernels....particularly the the '-mm' part. How does this -mm3 kernel relate (revision wise) to my -rc3-mm1 kernel? It seems that the mm# increments with rc's between mm# revisions. Is this correct? |

You are running release candidate 3 of the 2.6.3 kernel with the first revision of the mm-patches for that release candidate.
Portage has the final version of the 2.6.3 kernel with the third revision of the mm-patches for the final version.
The -rc has to do with the kernel itself, while -mmX with the revision of the mm-patches for that kernel. |
