configuring zippy el-610 keyboard hell

does anyone have any experience configuring a zippy el-610? i can't figure it out. it has a laptop layout, with a "fn" key, etc... and the only time the dual function (7890uiopjkl;m./) keys output what they should is when i hold down the "fn" key, otherwise they spit out the numpad keys (home, up, pg up, left, right, end, pg dn, +, -, ins, del) i've tried all the included laptop configs but they don't work, what should i do????????
