Hello people!

Im having a small problem enabling a 128 wep encryption at home.

The wifi networks works perfect but its always good with some security!

Anyhow, I use iwconfig to set up my card when accessing the networking, like this

ifconfig eth1 up

iwconfig eth1 mode Managed
iwconfig eth1 essid "xxx"

dhcpcd eth1

Now, I read the man page for iwconfig and thought it was just to enter this

iwconfig eth1 key restricted <key>

Im using a 3com AP and this product lets you use a 3com encryption key.

This encryption key gives me (after I have written in a key for it to convert) "CC B1 15 2A E3 60 2F D7 EB 76 8E 24 F4"

So I just used it like this with my card :
iwconfig eth1 key restricted CC B1 15 2A E3 60 2F D7 EB 76 8E 24 F4

Now, that didnt work so I tried:
iwconfig eth1 key restricted CCB1-152A-E360-2FD7-EB76-8E24-F4

But that didnt work either, so I changed the encryption key in the access point so it used ASCII instead. This produced "64 61 6D 70 62 61 72 6E 6B 69 6C 6C 65" which I also tried using like my examples above. But behold! This didnt work either!

Anyone know what I do wrong?

Im using a prism54 chip card (3com)

Anyone that has any idea?

Regards

/W

Well I'm stupid, I had activated "only authorized clients can connect to this AP option" and not put in the mac address for the card...

the wep works now! :D
