Hi there,
Has anybody encountered the absence of antialiasing in kaffeine? Which means that video image is constantly plagued with abundance of small squares, visible on the edges of various objects. The same is true when playing DVD's - one can clearly distinguish the squares on the egdes of, lets say faces, etc. The same DVD on Windows machine plays with full antialiasing...
I'm using kaffeine 0.4.1
xine-lib 1_rc2
xfree 4.3.0-r5
Nvidia Vanta ("nv" driver)
gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.2-r1
Any ideas how to to turn antialiasing on?
Thanks!

Check the video driver that is being used. XV is the one you want.
That *should* take care of it. _________________ "Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it."

It is not "antialiasing" that cause the small square in the video, but the blocking of mpeg compression.
If appears at your video, means you have a poor quality of video. If the DVD play fine with windows check your setup. I agree with JT Mac, check your video driver.
If your video driver is not fast enough to display the video, your player is dropping one "I" frame of your mpeg video file and causing the blocking in your video screen. |
