question about output during extract tarball/portage install

i'm doing a stage 3 install(very new to linux, so i thought this would be easier), while looking at the screen during extract tarball & portage install, i keep seeing output saying: 'wrote only 0 of 10240 bytes'
is this some sort of error? i also recieve a message at the end of extracting tarball that said something about error files. sorry for the dumb questions, but i just wanna make sure everything's going okay.

i'm going to gentoo after using mandrake for a few days, i didn't like that at all.

usually the output doesn't matter unless it says error, and if it says error it will usually stop doing whatever it is doing.

It's kinda hard to know how to fix the error without knowing what it is. I would assume that you don't have a way of just copying and pasting, so I know it is a pain in the butt, but could you post some of the errors, like as many lines above the end that you would like to type. Also you could check your md5 and see if it is correct, if the md5 is incorrect nothing will work. So if it is wrong re-download the stage
