Hi
When I start my pc with the installationcd it works just fine, but when I start it with my installed Gentoo it complains over eth0.
Eth0 is a Digital DECchip 211142/43 (rev41)
When it tries to bring eth0 up it also complians over netmount.
Im a real newbi with Gentoo so I want all the help, tips and tricks I can get.
Even tried to reconf my kernel with Genkernel all but nothing works ![Crying or Very sad ](images/smiles/icon_cry.gif) |

How did you compile your NIC driver?
If you compiled it as module, check if it's loaded (lsmod)...
If not, try inserting the name of the module in /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.x where x is your kernel version, so it gets loaded on boot...
Have you edited the /etc/conf.d/net file, to fit your needs?
If you 've activated dhcp but you don't use it, then netmount and other services may not start...
Regards
