I searched for "libtool" "patch error" ect and came up with nothing relavent to the problem at hand.

Soon after starting emerge system, the process errors out, it has something to do with the patch. Here is the error log:

Code:
root@ttyp1[temp]# cat libtool-1.2f-cache.patch-11146.out

I can't get it to go past this point. I'm using the new 2004 stage1 tarball for install, and installing (and posting this) from Knoppix.
Since I know someone is going to ask, here is my make.conf:

Code:
# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically built this stage
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
USE="3dnow acpi aim alsa avi cdr crypt cups dvd encode flac gif gphoto2 gtk gtk2 icq imlib java jpeg libwww mmx mpeg msn ncurses nocd oggvorbis opengl oss perl png qt quicktime readline samba scanner spell sse ssl tiff truetype usb X xml xml2 xmms x86 berkdb nls tcpd zlib pam pic"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"

It *appears* to have something to do with patch. I saw numerous different problems all having to do with patch, but no fixes.The bootstrapping went fine, and yes I just emerge sync'ed a few mins ago.

Plz help, it's imperative that I get this system up and running by tomorrow.

If nothing else, at least tell me that going back to 1.4 will probably fix the problem ^_^

Thanks in advance.

Bump.

I tried this fix:

since the problem was similar to mine, to no avail :(

Well, since no one has any idea what the problem is, I just formatted my root partition again and I'll try disabling the qt and gtk/2 USE flags and use the gentoo 1.4 stage 1 install. Hopefully it will work this time.

I'm on the last step of the bootstrapping process with no problems so far (though I had no problem bootstrapping last time either).

I will wait and see, and continue bumping updating this thread if it doesn't :(

Good luck on getting it to work.
