I am having a problem with the onboard video of my Nforce 2 motherboard. When playing an opengl game specifically Quake 3 and Tuxracer the bottom righthand corner of my screen has a perfect little square of artifact. The framerate seems fine but the square is present in both games.
It is not present with X or with KDE's screensaver (Euphoria GL). I have tried increasing and decreasing both the video memory and agp aperture (via bios). If anyone else has seen this let me know. Appreciate the help!

What resolution you running at? NVIDIA cards have problems doing 800 by 600. This was happening on my system with nwn and ut2k3.

How the hell did you get the thing stable? I had issues with my onboard igp - i had to go with an external video card to get my system stable. Its an Albatron KM18GPro

Hey, go figure, I didn't try changing the res but that fixed it.

No problem at 640x480 or 1024x768 but at 800x600 the little box returns. Weird.
Is this a known and documented issue? I haven't heard of it before.

As far as the stability, this thing is very stable so far. It's an Asus Nforce2 IGP.

Thanks for the help.

Hehe, 800x600 strikes again :) My shoulder surfing buddy says that 800x600 is just a strange nvidia resolution - it wsa more of a banshee one.

You got some more system specs? I'm just wondering how the hell you got the igp stable. I'd love mine stable, its really irritating having to use an external vid card.

Unless nvidia have rolled out some new drivers, or maybe you just lucked out. Tho i have heard that a BIOS flash will fix the problem. \

That is the only major gripe with my mobo, but yeah :|
