Handspring Visor Edge, unusual problem...

I have a Visor Edge PDA (Palm Pilot) that I want to sync with my computer. I am using 2.6.6-r1 kernel, and I have all the drivers compiled in. I installed pilot-link and jpilot. It seemed it would work, but lsusb is saying it isn't plugged into the usb when it is. It's fine with my other usb devices (mouse, joystick, etc), but the visor edge doesnt show up. I get no kernel error messages either. lsusb DOES infact say it is plugged in, but only when I hit the hotsync button... Any help? (By the way, i am using devfs)
