Au8820 , Kernel 2.6 & Alsa

Hello, I have a Turtle Beach Montego A3DXStream with the au8820 chip that I would like to use. The problem is this soundcard is not supported in the 2.6 kernels?? I'm currently using 2.6.3-mm3.

I read on the forums that people have gotten this card working with the 2.4 kernels since it's supported by the the seperate alsa-driver. I dont feel like downgrading my system however.

Any ideas on how to solve this?
