I just want to use latest kde, OOo, and it will cost me about 20 hours.
So I just wondered if there are any pre-build packages? The tiny diffrerence between the native-build and pre-build is ignorable.
Thanks from a newbie of gentoo. |

Thanks for your quick responce.
In fact I have installed Gentoo 1.4 from liveCD starting from stage 3.
I just wanted to update KDE, installed OOo,... but I don't want to emerge the source, so I asked the question, whether there is some pre-built package for latest release, such as kde 3.2 ...
Thanks. |

ok, now I get it.
There's actually a binary version of openoffice in portage (openoffice-bin). If you don't mind about bleeding-edge optimizations this might be a good alternative.
I'm not really up to the release schedule, but the first official release for this year must be quite close. It's likely that they'll release up-to-date GRPs along with this release.
Have you checked the mirrors? _________________ I'm really wondering what Lovechild is doing nowadays... |
