2.6.3-ck2 not 'responsive'?

For those of you using the ck-sources, can you play movies while, say, compiling a package? When I do that, the movie becomes extremely choppy. I really liked the ck-sources for 2.4, and while I can play movies and compile at the same time using mm-sources, I have some random usb troubles with mm-sources. Maybe once ck-sources becomes stable it will be just as responsive as mm-sources? hopefully....
