I need a rescue CD for my system, but due to my S-ATA controller (SiI 3512) the Gentoo livecds were unable to detect it. I didn't try the new 2004.0 images yet, I am downloading them now. But if they don't succeed in detecting my hardware, what shall I do?
I have a kernel patch to fix this, but how can I remaster this image? I don't want to rebuild it from scratch, I just want to put my custom kernel in.
As I am not familiar with bootable linux CDs and the Gentoo livecds in particular, can someone help me on this please? _________________ post tenebras lux, post fenestras tux

This guide is from the Documentation, Tips and Tricks forum. It worked fine for me. There was also a thread with something similar to this yesterday. I wrote a quick step-by-step guide there.
EDIT: That was in the Installing Gentoo forum. |
