I moved from redhat->gentoo for my new linux HTPC box. I compiled the 2.4.24 kernel from the vanilla emerge and have virtually everything box working (PVR-350 TV out, myth, etc) but lirc is not.
I have two possible LIRC recievers the PVR-350 and the usb Streamzap remote.
I have tried the latest CVS of lirc, the emerged version of lirc and a patched version of the emerged lirc with streamzap.
I cannot get either of them working (I cannot get the streamzap to work with the emerge). But it basically comes down to the same error all the time:
Feb 27 23:07:31 T-REX lircd 0.7.0pre2: could not get file information for /dev/lirc/0
Feb 27 23:07:31 T-REX lircd 0.7.0pre2: default_init(): Not a directory
Feb 27 23:07:31 T-REX lircd 0.7.0pre2: caught signal
I have tried "lircd -d /dev/lirc/0" however that doesn't fix it.
In my kernel I do not have:
USB Serial Converter support
IrDA support
I Do have:
I2C support
I2C bit-banging interfaces
I2C PCF 8584 interfaces
I2C device interface
I2C /proc interface
Anyone have any ideas? I get the same error with the PVR-350 and the streamzap remote so I have no clue. |
