Ok I have decided to get another harddrive to use Linux on. Now how can I tell the raid array (which the computer now boots off of) to allow me to select linux or windows as the os I want to use

Can you be a little more vague? =P
Did you have linux running and then decided to change the hard drive or did you want to install from scratch? OR did you simply add a new drive?
Either way, you'll need to follow this in order to install grub properly. |

errr no idk
quote of what someone else told me
"Linux installs its own bootlaoder program which can be configured to allow you to select multple OS's. This ordinarily goes into the MBR of the HDD you are booting from.
In gentoo, the bootloader used is called Grub, and you will have to manually configure it.
This might be a problem if your boot drive is a raid array on an unsupported raid controller...."
the last line is what im trying to figure out how to do. |
