Title says it all. I was messing around not thinking and I wanted to do a new linux install. I deleted the partition along with grub on it. Now I just want to get back into windows XP. Is booting from the CD the best way to do that? any other suggestions. Thanks

orrrrrrrr
u try to remember or find
what ur xp/dos/windows parition in linux terms. ie
/dev/hdaX
then when u enter
grub u do this
root (hdX,X) <<<this has to be ur XP/DOS/WINDOWS PARTITION
then do
chainloader +1
then type boot
it should boot into windows.
which will give you enough time
to go back into smindows and download the GRP gentoo LiveCD.
yes

I think he deleted his partition with grub on it. I guess he could create a small partition just for grub though from a LiveCD or Knoppix? |

if this is all u deleted...
if u deleted the partition with grub
put back in the live cd
make make it reiserfs
then go back to ur installation guide
install grub on that partition
then
go into ur /usr/src/linux dir
and do make dep make modules make modules_install make install
if you do it this way round, it should write the entry in grub.conf itself _________________ "wa ma tawfiqi illah billah"
