it should be in the emerge -up world
did you do an emerge sync before you tried to update world? _________________ Someone asked me once if I suffered from mental illness. I told him I enjoyed every second of it.

Boy! I've just done emerge sync and looks like something's broken: Here's the error message:

(Could take a couple minutes if you have a lot of binary packages.)

Can't even do a simple emerge. How do I fix things? |

I had lots of problems syncing yesterday with the north american servers and switched to the south american set and all was well after that point. |

Could someone kindly let me know how to sync from a specific set of servers apart fom the ones selected by mirrorselect? |

i've managed to upgrade kde 3.1 to 3.2 but i've still got 3.1 in my system. i'd like to save the space and what's the point in having both versions installed? I used emerge -up kde.
How can I remove 3.1 completely? |

Try this:
Make sure you have gentoolkit emerged.
Do:
That will tell you all installed kde packages and their versions. Uninstall the 3.1.5 packages like so:
Code: | emerge unmerge kdebase-3.1.5 |
You might also want to uninstall a version of arts as well.
After that, you might want to check /usr/kde/ for a 3.1 directory. Everything might not get deleted.
That should get most of it. _________________ They don't have a good bathroom to do coke in. |
