How does one launch a program into the background using & nice and quietly?
I've tried to use something like the following and a few variations, but it's not working...:
program & > /dev/null 2>&1
All I want to do be able to do is not have those annoying [2343] PID notices pop up... |

"program > /dev/null 2>&1 &" is what I do.
I don't know how to eliminate the job completion notices, other than to quit the launching shell.
