i just got done installing gentoo on my presario 2182us notebook. everything works great aside from one small thing, that i think is related to framebuffer. im using the gentoo optimized 2.6.3 kernel (i can post my configuration if needed), and when i startx, then switch to a vc something quite odd happens. when i clear the screen the text present doesnt clear, it gets sort of greyed out- if you will. the only way to truly clear it is to alt + arrow key to another vc then go back. i changed to another XF86Config file (which i can also post if requested) and now when i switch between vc's either while X is running, or after i kill X, the text is microscopic (and green) and its mirrored. help! |

dont use the RIVA framebuffer driver.
enable only the vesa and support for framebuffer devices . _________________ linux: #232767 |

Also take care that your console framebuffer uses the same resolution and bitdepth as XFree, or strange things may happen. |
