|
|
Ok, I've browsed through the forums for the easiest way to copy a DVD (make an exact copy using only one DVD burner). The DVD is a video DVD with menus. I have yet to find an answer and am wondering if anyone could help me out.
Someone mentioned using cat /dev/dvd filname.iso and then burning that as you would a cd. But that wouldn't work because of css encryption. Anyone have any other solutions? |

Also------>am I breaking any forums rules by asking this? I have the DVD, I just want to make a backup copy of it. Technically it's not illegal.....is it? |

You can use dvdbackup (emerge -p dvdbackup) to extract encrypted files from a DVD. Then you can make an ISO and burn it... if its a single layer DVD... if its a dual layer DVD it gets more complicated... |

Will that make me a DVD with menus that I can view on most DVD players? Or wil that just make me a DVD data disk, with videos on it? |
