Ok...you folks are being a huge help with my little problems. Thanks a-lot! I'm trying to learn as fast as I can.
Help me out with this easy one....where can I find a log of all the info that runs up the screen during boot?
Thanks in advance...

the command 'dmesg' prints the hardware/boot phase. I'm not sure about getting the following info (module stuff, etc), aside from rebooting and scrolling up (shift + pageup) in a terminal. _________________ Zak: Luke's making a 3D interface for Linux"

So may I add that as question. From the moment on Gentoo presents its copyright-message, module loading, init-scripts etc. nothing is displayed in dmesg. How can I see that information (going back with shift-PicUp only gives very little in my setup)
Thanks for any help
