From time to time in linux, I run the word 'bogomips'...for example, in my login screen, I have 2760.70 Bogomips...good? Bad? Doesn't matter? Related to MIPS? Just a funny word with random numbers? confusion! |

im probably not the best person to explain as ill just be paroting what ive read but basicly the kernel runs a test loop and this is given a value determined upon the speed it takes. effectivly its a measure of how fast a kernel & cpu can crunch numbers, it i better measure than megahertz as diferent cpus process stuff at diferent rates eg a amd64 will wipe the floor with a p4 of the same clock. _________________ Giay tay nam | Giay nam cao cap | Giay luoi |
