how to start server X as not root user?

actually:
xfs 3961 0.0 0.2 7256 696 ? S 08:35 0:01 /usr/X11R6/bin/xfs -daemon -config /etc/X11/fs/
root 4072 0.0 0.1 2464 492 ? S 08:35 0:00 /usr/kde/3.1/bin/kdm
root 4083 5.4 4.8 62780 12352 ? S 08:35 47:10 /etc/X11/X -nolisten tcp -auth /var/run/xauth/A
root 4101 0.0 0.3 3304 800 ? S 08:35 0:00 -:0
hetfield 4389 0.0 0.3 4320 920 ? S 08:36 0:00 /bin/sh /etc/X11/Sessions/kde-3.1.4
hetfield 4427 0.0 0.3 4336 976 ? S 08:36 0:00 /bin/sh --login /usr/kde/3.1/bin/startkde

so server X is root, kde user

You should not be root when you run X, but the X process
always belongs to root.

I don't know which security guide you're talking about but I
think you didn't understand it correctly.

As a normal user you use the startx command, which launches
X (as a root process) and lets you use it for your user apps.

Bye
