|
|
Hi,
I have somehow lost my module support.
When I try to modprobe my eth0 is says it cant find it!
If try a 'locate' it can be found (ie 8139too)
I dont know if this relate to another error I am experiencing 'QM_MODULES' whenever a try to run anything.
I have checked the recommendations which say to use 'module-init-tools', but I can use this because my eth0 if not accessible.
I have maually downloaded the *.bz2 files and place them in /usr/portage/packages/all, but when I try to do an emerge on the specifc file it always looks to download instead.
Any help would highly regarded!!! |

you want to place the tar files in /usr/portage/distfiles/ hopefully then you can emerge what you need.

I initially tried the /usr/portage/distfiles directory but when I tried to run emerge It would not find the required files.
I also noticed that when I tried to emerge modutils-2.25, as this was what it looked for. I then tried to emerge module-init-tools and it now asks for modutils-2.26. I also have place this in same folder as above but the emerge still does not find modutils-2.26, even if I specify the -k (ie --usepkg).
thanks again |
